UpgradeDavid Chan is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He qualified from the University of Sheffield and completed his higher surgical training on the Yorkshire rotation.
He is dual fellowship trained. His shoulder and elbow fellowship was completed in Leeds and his trauma and limb reconstruction fellowship was completed in Sheffield.
David was appointed as an NHS consultant in 2012 at the University Hospital Aintree in Liverpool. Here he helped to set up the upper limb service offering both keyhole and open procedures such as shoulder replacement. His NHS practice includes both elective and emergency trauma surgery and he is currently the Clinical Lead for Orthopaedic Trauma in this busy NHS Major Trauma Centre.
Away from clinical work, he is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the School of Health and Related Research at the University of Sheffield.
