Shantanu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder and Elbow surgeon at the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital NHS Trust. He has completed a fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, a center of excellence for surgery of the upper limb and a further six months as a fellow at the Cappagh Hospital, Dublin to obtain further training in surgery of the shoulder and elbow joints. He has also since visited various centres of excellence around the world including the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, USA), Fondren Clinic (Houston, USA), DeBeer clinic (Cape Town, South Africa) to further his knowledge of surgery of the shoulder and elbow joints. He is a on the board of reviewers for the journal “Shoulder & Elbow”. He is on the faculty for arthroscopic and open surgery courses for the shoulder and elbow joints in the UK and overseas.
